How to use Dice
Dice is a 3D dice roller that runs in your browser. Physics-based dice tumble across a green baize table, and the result of every die and the total are read for you. It is free, with nothing to install and no account to create.
Open the dice rollerHow it works
- Press Dice and use + and − on each card to choose how many of each die to roll. You can mix d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 and d20, up to 50 dice in total. Reset goes back to a single d6.
- Choose Same to keep every die white, or Different to color each shape from red to violet so you can tell them apart. Press OK to confirm.
- Press Roll or the Space key. The dice are thrown onto the table and bounce until they stop.
- Once every die has settled, the result of each die and the total appear on screen. Press Roll again to roll the same dice once more.

Are the rolls fair?
Each die is thrown with a random position, angle and spin, then rolls under simulated physics until it stops. The number on top is the result, so nothing is chosen in advance.
We regularly simulate a large number of rolls for every shape and check that each face comes up equally often.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free? Do I need an account?
It is free and needs no sign-up or login. Just open the page and roll.
Does it work on phones?
Yes, it works in mobile browsers on iPhone and Android. It draws the dice with WebGL, so use a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
Which dice can I roll?
The d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 and d20. You can mix them freely, up to 50 dice at a time.
Do I have to read the dice myself?
No. When the dice stop, the number on each one is read automatically and the results are shown with the total.
How do I tell dice of the same shape apart?
Choose Different in the Dice window. Each shape gets its own color, and the results are listed in that color order.
Are my settings saved?
The dice you picked, the color setting and the language are kept in your own browser, so the app opens the same way next time.
